Samsung SyncMaster™ 204B (Black) 20.1 inch LCD Monitor

While widescreen displays are becoming increasingly common and somewhat of a standard, ordinary 4:3 ratio displays still remain useful. As such the Samsung SyncMaster 204B is a 20" display with 5ms response time and specifications that make it suitable both for office oriented work, computer gaming and multimedia uses. However, when it comes to multimedia widescreen displays tend to be more popular.
The design of the 204B is stylish and modern, quite common to Samsung products. Not only is it stylish it also incorporates a full set of ergonomic adjustment options including height adjustment, rotation, tilt, swivel and even pivot between landscape and portrait modes.

However, when it comes to multimedia widescreen displays tend to be more popular.
The design of the 204B is stylish and modern, quite common to Samsung products. Not only is it stylish it also incorporates a full set of ergonomic adjustment options including height adjustment, rotation, tilt, swivel and even pivot between landscape and portrait modes.
The connectivity of the 204B is sadly limited only to D-sub and DVI inputs while many other monitors on the market include further connectivity such as USB, S-video or Composite.
The monitor is easily configured; all the definitions are accessible via an easy to navigate on-screen-menu. To make things even simpler Samsung also include bundled software which allows control of some definitions and color synchronization via a program.
Performance wise the 204B does very well at its native resolution of 1600x1200. The low 5ms response time assures there are no issues of ghosting in games or movies. Color fidelity is good with bright and vivid colors as well as sharp well defined black text. Image uniformity however is disappointing.
Overall, this is quite a good display but it leaves more to be desired.
