This model of the R40 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and has 1GB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive, all standard connectivity options one would expect including Wireless Network. It is lacking Bluetooth support however. Being highly affordable one would expect to get lesser build quality but we are pleased to say that the R40 has a sturdy stable build made mostly of plastic in silver and block colors. The display is 15.4 inch wide with a maximum resolution of 1280x800 providing quite good quality, the colors are sharp and vivid and there are eight levels of brightness selectable according to the needs of the current work environment. As far as performance goes the R40 delivers what is to be expected, it works perfectly for the above mentioned tasks remaining stable and quick even while multitasking. Under normal working conditions the 6 cell included battery delivers quite average performance with about 3 hours of operation. Overall, the R40 is unsuitable for computer gaming but can easily handle the needs of the average user and even more intensive work thanks to the Core 2 Duo processor. So albeit being in no way remarkable the R40 does what it is intended to do perfectly.
