The HP Laserjet 1018 is quite the simple monochrome printer. Its low price (around $100 and falling) and good print quality provide great value for the home office user, especially considering its extremely modest size. Fold up the trays when you're not using it and the printer's footprint is not much bigger than a manila envelope. The printer uses a simple single-piece drum toner, which is very easy to replace (although you won't have to do this very often). Unfortunately, the only way to connect the printer is through a USB cable, pretty much eliminating any networking capability.
