Basically an upgrade of the highly successful Nuvi 350, the Garmin Nuvi 660 is also a terrific GPS device, with even better performance and extended features. While it is slightly bigger and heavier- this is for good reason, as it boasts a larger display (4.3 inches). The screen is bright in any lighting, and the user interface is once again very easy to use.
The Nuvi 660 comes with the same connection options as the 350- except for one important addition- Bluetooth. It is now possible to place and receive calls through the device, including direct dialing to numbers in the device's database (restaurants, hotels, etc.). The 660 is compatible with most cell phones, and there is a list of supported models on Garmin's web site.

On the 660 the FM traffic receiver is now standard, and the GPS receiver is WAAS-enabled (Wide Area Augmentation System for better position accuracy). The device also has all of today's standard GPS features, such as voice-guided directions and programmable detours, and also has pedestrian, bicycle, truck, and bus modes.
With the SD card slot the number of features can be expanded to include foreign language dictionaries, travel guides and more maps (the US version comes with North American maps standard). Maps can be displayed in 2D or 3D, and the device has an MP3 player, a JPEG image viewer, a calculator and a world clock.
The Nuvi 660 is an extremely capable device, suitable for any type of travel anywhere in the world.
