The Acer AL2216W is one such 22" with a 5ms response time. It is intended to be very affordable which raises the question whether this comes at the cost of quality and performance. Unfortunately, the answer to that question is yes. The 2216W is a perfect example of mediocrity and beneath in just about every aspect, the design is plain, the build quality is unimpressive, there is almost no ergonomic adjustability and most importantly the overall performance of the display is quite simply poor. Connectivity wise there are only VGA and DVI inputs and the DVI is also not HDCP compliant meaning you won't be able to view licensed BlueRay or HD-DVD titles on this display. As this monitor is based on a standard TN panel it offers only 6 bit colors which combined with dithering allows presentation of 16.2 million colors unlike 8bit monitors which are capable of displaying true 16.7 million colors. The TN panel also suffers from poor viewing angels, which is quite evident in this specific display. Combine this with poor color uniformity, dull color reproduction and lack of balance in color temperature and you get all around shabby results. In conclusion, while it will suffice for day to day computer work it really doesn't shine otherwise in any manner. Minimize
